Running on A Track is a model of the 1950s Empire Builder often described as the World's Most Beautiful Train. The Burlington hauled the train between Chicago and St. Paul using its own diesels and mail car. The 17 car consist is headed up with a trio of F units standing in for the usual CB&Q E units....thats are story and we're sticking to it.

Incident on C Track

While experimenting with a new camcorder, we forgot that a fred car had been removed from a train.
The first installation in a well car was unbalanced and the car tipped over on the first curve. A quick trip back to the shops and the camcorder was fitted to a depressed well car. Needless to say, that missinbg fred car was long forgotten by then.

The private Union Pacific passenger special that brought their vice president of engineering to Chicago for an award ceremony now begins the trek back to Nebraska, with heritage unit 6936 in the lead. 6936 is the last of UP's dual engined diesels with 6600 horsepower dating from 1969.
